EXTEnded Biography
Jeremy Finch was born in INdiana USA in 1988. The son of a preacher. He started to play musical songs using the moniker "yairms" in 2009. He and some friends began to host shows at a "diy" space in Phoenix Arizona called the dressing room. A couple years later he moved to Durham North Carolina to collaborate with his friend, and started another "diy" showspace called the Fellowship Hall. He went on an action-packed cross-country music tour. And then relocated to NYC.
He found work at a cafe, and helped start a "community art space" called Hope's Stable. As work at the cafe took over... he started to question the nature of service work paying for "art" or "music". Inspired by the dilemma, and with the help of great friends...he made DEath Of a Business Jerry (a 93 minute feature film). It premiered on 8/8/19.
During the pandemic, La Bufadora was made. A group of 25 artists quarantined on a ranch in Arizona, and made a surreal spaghetti western.
In summer 2022, Jeremy went for a run. With no prior conditions... a blood clot went to his heart, and he stopped breathing. It took 5 times for the FDNY paramedics to shock him back to life. He was hospitalized for 3 months.
As he rehabilitated, he continued to edit La Bufadora, and put together a film festival to premiere it, and celebrate community. With the help of several friends and community members ROFF (Ridgewood Off Kilter Film Festival) had its inaugural year in 2023, and happened again in 2024.
He is currently working as a migrant shelter coordinator at a church in Queens, NY. He is in the early stages of creating another feature film.
